Becoming an EMT
The Carle Regional EMS System is currently sponsoring
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Training Courses for anyone interested in
making a change to this exciting career. An EMT provides immediate and
efficient pre-hospital emergency care, under the command of a physician, to
acutely ill or injured patients.
As an EMT, you may be called upon to:

Manage
an accident scene.
-
Gather
patient information.
-
Provide
emergency medical care.
-
Monitor
and treat patients while in transport.
-
Provide
emotional support to patients and families.
-
Communicate
with appropriate medical personnel regarding patient conditions, history,
treatment, response to treatment and other relevant information.

Drive
company vehicles under emergency and non-emergency conditions.
Completing an EMT training course will expand your opportunities in numerous
health care careers, including:
